Here's a wonderful rainy-day project that's perfect for children and adults of all ages.

In our household, we love to gather around a child with diabetes and create these charming découpage infusion set sites - providing a unique and modern twist to traditional drab medical adhesives.

With Father's Day fast approaching, I've selected these fabulous clip art images of famous fathers to glue onto your child's body – Father Guido Sarducci, Father Time, Puff Daddy and Papa John. I just love the way the Papa John's pizza with all the toppings came out. Yum! What child wouldn't want to wear one of these magnificent infusion sites in the likeness of these wonderful fathers on their bottom?

To make for clean, straight lines, I like to fasten the child down firmly on a butcher block table with Guatemalan leather straps taken from Victorian-era straightjackets. I happened to have some lying around, but if you don't, I'm sure you can find these at your local Guatemalan mental institution supply store.

Remember to fasten the straps tightly. You don't want your little angel escaping before the glue sealant sets. The whole design would be ruined. How embarrassing if your child plans on seeing his or her endocrinologist in the coming days.

Don't let a little blood spoil your project. The ruby hue of blood adds vibrancy to any decoupagé project.

Decoupagé Tools and Materials

Small, sharp scissors

Sharp craft knife

Cutting mat

Mod Podge glue sealant

Small or medium craft brushes

Infusion Set

IV 3000 Transparent Dressing

Clip Art of famous fathers

Explore the whimsy of Sanjhi, the Indian art of paper cutting, with bright, decadent colors or choose your own pretty patterns or silhouettes. Either way your child will be the sharpest 'dressed' diabetic on the block.

Be creative! Have fun!

It's a good thing.
