You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen,

Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen.

But do you recall, the most pancreatically-challenged reindeer of all?

Rudolph the diabetic ('betic)

Had some very nasty lows (like a 30)

And if you ever asked him (asked him)

He would even say it blows (like a mofo)

All of the other reindeer (reindeer)

Used to laugh and call him names (like Sugar Boy)

They said he was contagious

They didn't want to be the same (the same)

Then one foggy Christmas Eve

Santa came to say (ho ho ho)

Rudolph if your sugar's alright

Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?

Then all the reindeer loved him (loved him)

As they shouted out with glee (with glee)

(because despite the fact that he had a disease that frankly made them all a bit uncomfortable and seeing the blood on Rudolph's footpads after a blood-sugar check freaked them out, in life it's really all about who you know. It's about networking. If Rudolph is in like Flynn with Santa, then, well, that would put them just a couple Kevin Bacon degrees away from the big guy. It would behoove them to be nice to Rudolph. At least temporarily. Sure, he might lose an antler some day due to diabetes complications, like Blitzen's aunt Vicky did last year. And sure, in all honesty they might go right back to calling him names. But, for now; at this very moment in time …)

Rudolph the Diabetic ('betic)

Your blood sugar's 103!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a very Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah and Happy Kwanzaa!
