Olivia got a huge campership to Clara Barton this year. I was thrilled because that camp? REALLY, really expensive. Way more than I could have afforded to pay on my own.

So we have to pay a small amount and Olivia gets to go back to camp for her sixth year. She loves it there - all winter long, she and her camp friends keep in touch via email and IM, counting down the days until they can see each other again.

And so the next few weeks will consist of shopping ("Mom!! I need something to wear to the dance!!") and packing and unpacking and repacking and making sure she has enough supplies - to a previous commenter, she does use Silhouettes, so that's not the problem with the thigh. I think it's just her thigh.

As much as I do miss her while she's gone, I'm so thankful she has this opportunity to go to camp. The first year she went, she was nervous as all get out, and so was I, but when I picked her up at the end of her mini-session, she was over the moon about it. The first words out of her mouth were "Mom, I HAVE to go again next year."

Thankfully, one way or another, we've been able to make that happen every year since then.

Wait til I give her the iPod Shuffle I won.  I may actually win that Mother Of The Year trophy.

Again. Would like to be packed and brought with Olivia. I can easily fit into a duffel bag. :)

MikeDurbinMike was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes on December 29, 2008, and congestive heart failure the very next day. Talk about a double whammy for anyone, let alone a 24 year old.  He didn’t have to come up with New Year’s resolutions that year; his doctors did that for him.  That kind of humor has been instrumental in keeping him, and those around him, going over the last year and a half.
