Ever since I was diagnosed with diabetes, I have always wondered about how celebrities with diabetes are doing with their control. I remember the first celebrity I found out had diabetes was Halle Berry. When I realized this I guess I was a little "amazed". Looking back, I feel pretty stupid about being shocked that a CELEBRITY had what I had. For some reason, hearing that news was good news. I remember saying to myself, "Yes! That's GREAT!." I was so happy to see that EVEN DIABETICS COULD STILL BECOME FAMOUS! Maybe I am a little selfish, but don't we all want fame and fortune ;)

But, on a serious level, I am curious as to what types of treatment options they may have access to as "famous" people, that "ordinary" citizens like me, (although I am kinda famous too though :) don't have.

For example, I heard that Ms. Berry has a personal chef. And apparently, I don't want to start any rumors here, the chef would obviously have to cook specificly to fit her diabetic eating needs. I could see where this would be a very big advantage to her and her health needs. I don't know though? If you have any ideas about what methods diabetic celebrities are using to control their diabetes then please let us know. Or, even better, if you are reading this, and you happen to be Halle Berry, (or Bret Michaels), then please be so kind as to let us in on your little diabetes control secrets and methods.

Thank you...Sincerely yours, the ONE AND ONLY...Andy Bell.

Andy - My personal chef makes me cotton candy and fruit loops with strawberry milk. Sometimes, for a special treat, I get Ice cream covered in gummy fish. :P .... Nicole

Maybe they have carb secretaries who just follow them around and log every carb they eat. :-)

I need to hire myself one of those. My doctor would be amazed everytime I come in with a whole month of numbers.

They probably have personal injectors. That would be people who do injections for diabetics, oops people with diabetes. :-)
