Kerri Sparling has type 1 diabetes. It's also been said that Kerri Sparling may be slightly over-caffeinated.
Working as an editor for dLife, author of the blog Six Until Me, and enjoying stints as a freelancer, Kerri is raising awareness for diabetes and is an active member of the diabetes community.
Kerri can often be found at the gym, driving along the 95 en route to RI, or holed up in a coffee shop with her laptop. There are a few cats in her life whose abilities to respectively annoy and protect are unparalleled. She's recently married and is looking forward to starting a family.
Kerri is the editor of Blogabetes, and if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email her.

Welcome back, SuperG! I'm glad you're back. And you'll conquer that pesky pound and a half - and then some!
Oh my God I'm just catching this post now. I WISH I had been here. I would have totally tried to convince Chris to adopt all four of those kitties. But then he may have divorced me on the spot (four kittens + three cats we already have = instant divorce), so maybe my absence was a blessing in disguise.
And I'm still laughing at "kitty junk."
I support anything that helps to raise awareness. The more people who are aware of diabetes, the more people who will fight towards a cure.
I commit to raise awareness.
Great interview! I don't have anyone in my family who has diabetes, but I did attend a diabetes camp when I was a little kid. There's something very badass about knowing you aren't the only kid with diabetes out there. Have you guys thought about a diabetes camp for Charlie?
Also, there were parts of this interview that made me laugh my rear end off. I'd also take the crab by decision. And then pit it against Kimbo Slice.
I agree with Charlie. No one likes being farted on.
However, my own desire to show or not show my insulin pump ebbs and flows with my moods. I wonder if other diabetics go through those same motions.
Ah, the big bad city. If only it were filled with MUTE Hank Azaria look-alikes. ;)
I hope your ass-bone recovered. ;)
"So do I switch my stuff to silent mode or tell her to switch to silent mode?"
SuperG, that made me laugh out loud. I'd pop over to her cube and tell her that you're not trying to annoy her on purpose, but your diabetes devices beep. Add a "Believe me, I'd rather not have to wear them, but it's either some beeping and good health or going beepless and having trouble controlling my diabetes."
If that doesn't work, give me her extension. I'd love to give her a call. ;)
Carey is a full-time hater of diabetes. The benefits stink. His 7-year-old son, Charlie, has been giving he and his wife the finger since November of 2003. Carey's parenting humor has appeared in various websites and print magazines. He resides in the suburbs of Philadelphia with his wife and three children.

Julia lives behind the Tofu Curtain, in the Pioneer Valley, in Western Massachusetts. It's a nice place. She likes it there. Her eldest daughter, Olivia, has type 1 diabetes. She's also 13. It's a real toss-up as to which is more difficult -- the diabetes or the teen-age drama. (Read More)
LOL at "garage of doom." :) That's the truth! I hate the Pilgrim Garage and am not looking forward to battling it in August.
Now that the wedding chaos has settled down, I need to focus on logging blood sugars. It's been a challenge for me since I was diagnosed, but I have high hopes that the MiniLink meter will help a bit. Let me know if your phone reminders help - I can use all the tips I can get with this sort of thing.
