Awesome post, Carey!!

On Post: Not So Jolly

You're a brave soul, SuperG for putting this out there. And you aren't alone with this, that's for certain. The holidays are tough times for plenty of reasons. I am missing family members we've lost in the past few years, and it's hard to feel "holly jolly" when your heart aches.

We're here for you. Always.

Great post, and I am paranoid about going to the dentist. (I fear him - I have such freakishly sensitive teeth!)

I know what you mean about "there are a lot of things I need to be doing, but I'm just not." Diabetes and Real Life intersect in complicated ways, making diabetes adjustments tricky to work in as habit.

Good luck making the changes! We're here for you!

On Post: Fall

Cutie kids. :) And those chocolate-covered marshmallows look delicious - great way to treat a low.

(Also, laughed out loud at "Wow, Diabetes! Great cart wheel!")

Be proud of the exercise routine you've established! That's something to definitely be proud of. As far as grazing goes, I'm with you on that. It's tough for me to follow a food schedule. I bring a lot of snacks to work with me that are healthy, in efforts to keep me from grazing on the treats that are on the kitchen counter in the office. (Bagel Friday is tough, I'll admit it!)

Mail order pharmacies can be so annoying. I once had 8 vials of insulin left out to cook on my front porch one hot August afternoon.

(And I have a stash of lancets, too! Do all diabetics have boxes and boxes of them from the 90's?!)

On Post: Foil (ed)?

Ugh ... the blasted holiday candy. My coworker has a constant stash of chocolate and candy treats. I had to convince my brain that visiting her desk didn't automatically equal a snack.

For me, it's a matter of letting myself indulge, but not go completely nuts. Like Nocjef said, making a deal with myself to have a taste here and there helps keep me from devouring the whole bowl.

"A taste." I sound like a crack addict. ;)

Hey Tessss,

We're launching a dLife community space in the next few months, where dLife members will be able to write their own blogs, so stay tuned!

And Lindsey, I like reading about other kinds of infusion sets. I use a QuickSet, and have always used the QuickSets, so hearing about these other kinds is very cool!

I am so interested to see how this new diet goes for you. Stick with it, and keep us informed! :)
