Each individual is important at Camp Hamwi for his or her own particular qualities and contributions to the camp community. Camp provides opportunities for self discovery and creativity through exploring individual potential and abilities. Through a simple group living environment, campers discover an appreciation for each individual's differences, and the positive feeling of group accomplishments. Camp Hamwi strives to create an accepting community, building each camper's self-esteem and feeling of personal worth.

Camp Korelitz, in Hamilton, Ohio, between Cincinnati and Dayton, offers camp for kids ages 9 to 15. Camp Korelitz will be held at Camp Campbell Gard in Hamilton, Ohio.
During the week, the campers will participate in group activities and develop individual skills. It is the goal of the program staff to make the week a success-oriented experience for all campers.

Camp Ho Mita Koda is located in Newbury, Ohio (25 miles east of Cleveland). Its mission is to enable children to live well with diabetes through an enjoyable camp experience. The camp offers programs for children with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes including: a residence camp for children ages 6-15 with type 1 diabetes, one-day mini-camp's for children ages 4-8 with type 1 diabetes and their parents, Teen Weekend for teenagers ages 16-19 with type 1 diabetes, a residence camp for teenagers ages 12-17 with type 2 diabetes, and a Bicycle Adventure for people with diabetes ages 13 and older.

Camp Ko-Man-She provides a fun and medically-safe environment for your diabetic child, ages 8-16 to experience a variety of exciting camping activities. Each child’s needs and individuality are taken into account and your child will not only have a great time making new friends, but also learn about good diabetes management. Camp is held at YMCA’s Wilson Outdoor Recreation center, an ACA accredited camp in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Day camp is available for 6 & 7 year olds. Please contact us for more information.

The American Diabetes Association believes that education and recreational camping improves the lives of young people with diabetes, providing a creative opportunity to enhance their physical, emotional and social well being. Children with diabetes who attend camp have the chance to learn new physical and social skills, as well as new diabetes management techniques.

The "Big Shot Resident Camp" for 10-15 year old children with diabetes is the only camp of its kind in Northwest Ohio to offer a week-long outdoor adventure for pre-teen and teenage children with diabetes. A caring friend or family member who does not have diabetes can share the week's experiences as a camper alongside the camper with diabetes.

"Little Shots Day Camp" provides specialized learning programs designed for elementary school students with diabetes. In a fun-filled recreational setting, the camp offers these children practical solutions to problems they confront daily because of their diabetes.

Introductory program designed for first-time campers and those recently diagnosed to assist them in learning more about themselves and their diabetes. Steppin Stones is a three-day day camp with an overnight campout.
