Camp Lakota serves 150 children with diabetes each session. The camp is located in Rosholt WI (17 mi northeast of Stevens Point WI). Camp Lakota is a residential Camp for children with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Camp Lakota provides opportunities for campers to improve self sufficiency in diabetes management, feel good about themselves, have fun and make new friends. Informal diabetes education is conducted by nurses and/or doctors 2-3 times per week. Nutrition education is conducted 2-3 times per week and if needed on an individual basis. Dates are July 27 - August 1 2008 and August 3 - 8 2008. Fee is $95.00
