May 2, 2009 – TCOYD Diabetes Conference Returns to Raleigh Convention Center, May 2nd. Taking Control of Your Diabetes (TCOYD), a non-profit diabetes education organization, is hosting a conference, lunch and health fair from 8 am to 5 pm. Conference will feature national and local medical experts offering informative and motivational programs in diabetes care for people with all types of diabetes, those at risk for diabetes, and their loved ones. May 3, 2009 - 2009 Southern Tier Walk to Cure Diabetes at Elmira College, Elmira, NY. Registration at 9:00 am, walk begins at 10:00 am.
May 9, 2009 - Divabetic Outreach for Women: All About Woman at the Cook Convention Center, Memphis TN from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm. Free admission and free services for everyone.
May 9, 2009 - JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes at Bay Beach in Green Bay, WI. Registration is at 8:30 am and walk starts at 10:00 am.
May 11-15, 2009 - National Neuropathy Week: Over 20 Million Americans have neuropathy; one third of these patients have diabetic neuropathy--in fact, an estimated 50% of all diabetics will develop some degree of diabetic neuropathy. May 16, 2009 - San Diego’s 10th Annual Promise Ball: This year’s Promise Ball – Hands Up for a Cure will be a night you won’t want to miss! Heather Finlay and Greg Flores will co-chair the spectacular event at the brand new Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel. Expect an evening of philanthropy and elegance featuring enhanced live and silent auctions, dinner, and a special entertainment provided by comedian Kevin Nealon. We anticipate another sellout with more than 650 guests attending. Our goal for Hands Up for a Cure is to raise $1.5 million for diabetes research, surpassing last year's phenomenal total of $1.3 million.
