Growing up in Seattle, Jean Smart performed on stages all over the Pacific Northwest before trying her luck in New York City in 1980. After performing in a variety of off-Broadway plays as well as a couple minor stints in TV, Smart finally got her big break in 1986 starring alongside Delta Burke in “Designing Women”. She’s since returned to the stage, as well as lending her voice to Disney Cartoon “Kim Possible” and acting in an assortment of roles on television and on the big screen. Yet perhaps the role she is most recently known for is playing the President’s mentally unstable wife in the hit TV thriller 24.
