George Minot was born on December 2, 1885, in Boston, MA. Minot was member or fellow of numerous medical and allied organizations in his own country and abroad, and served as Editor of several medical publications. He was the first person with diabetes to win the Nobel Prize for Medicine. After a life of making important contributions to medical knowledge, especially to that of diseases of the blood, Minot died in 1950.
