Test, don’t guess. Testing your blood glucose is the best way to learn how your body reacts to different foods, activities, and situations.
Call your insurance company. Now is a good time to make sure any new diabetes-related healthcare providers are in your network and to verify your coverage for medication and testing supplies.
Get your team together. Diabetes requires a team of specialists. Start gathering referrals for an endocrinologist, diabetes educator, registered dietitian, ophthalmologist, podiatrist, and other necessary healthcare providers.
