Many hand lotions have added sugars, such as glycerin, a sugar alcohol. The natural ingredients that give us those delightful fruity or coconut smells also contain sugar. Any of these can result in a false high reading. For the most accurate result, make sure your hands are clean before testing. Read first. Then apply.
