Daily Tips

Dry Skin

Dry skin can be related to your diabetes. For smoother, more comfortable skin and to prevent infection, it is important to get to the bottom of why your skin is dry.

Check your glucose levels often. High glucose levels can cause dry skin.

Drink more water.

Moisturize your skin after showering or bathing while your skin is moist, to hold the moisture in. (Make sure you dry well between your toes and do not apply lotion or cream between your toes)

While applying moisturizer, look at your skin closely for redness and open areas. If you notice anything out of the ordinary, especially on your feet, contact your health care team.

Remember, your best defense for healthy skin is normal glucose levels. Check out all the information on dLife that tells you how. You can do it!
