Having problems paying for your diabetes medications or treatment? Help may be available if you know where to look:
Patient assistance programs. Many pharmaceutical manufacturers offer patient assistance programs that offer free or low-cost drugs to those who need them.
State, federal, or community aid. Call your local and state health department and see if you qualify for state health aid or free community clinics.
Drug samples. Your physician may be able to offer you free drug samples if you’re having difficulty paying for your medication. Just ask.
Sliding-fee scales. Some healthcare providers will allow you to pay on a sliding-fee scale based on your income level.
