Managing Editor

We are seeking an experienced managing editor, preferably in the healthcare industry, with a strong understanding of diabetes and an entrepreneurial spirit to create engaging content across multiple platforms in order to educate and inspire people who are living with or caring for others with diabetes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing our highly capable editorial team, including freelancers, consultants, and interns
  • Managing our team of experts to respond to reader questions
  • Planning, creating, organizing, reviewing, and maintaining our extensive library of content, including articles, quizzes, slideshows, videos, and recipes
  • Editing and proofing consumer- and client-facing content generated by Editorial as well as other dLife departments, ensuring depth, accuracy, and a uniform voice across all of our content
  • Coordinating newsletter creation and strategy to help fulfill Editorial, sponsor, and barter partner needs
  • Collaborating with other departments to create and implement SEO strategy
  • Collaborating with our marketing department to develop and implement social media strategy
  • Managing Editorial department budget
  • Working across departments to help facilitate quality customer service
  • Collaborating with our graphics department to ensure creation of materials with visual interest as well as accuracy and adherence to dLife style

Preferred Skills:

  • Mastery of English grammar and punctuation
  • Copy editing and proofing proficiency
  • Experience with healthcare writing and targeting to a varied audience in a consumer-friendly manner

Social Media Marketing Associate

dLife is looking for an eager and motivated part timer to support and maintain dLife social media strategy and policies for 35 hours/week; produce daily updates on dLife social media channels with engaging, interactive posts; monitor and evaluate social media accounts and track metrics.



Act as the voice of dLife to engage patients with diabetes and start a two-way conversation across all social media platforms.

Online Media Monitoring – monitor news, peer organizations, and events relevant to dLife's priorities; and identify opportunities for dLife to raise its voice and visibility.

Ideal Candidate Experience & Qualifications:

  • Understand social media universe including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, LinkedIn, blogs, RSS, other social media platforms
  • Excel at research, possess excellent writing skills, and able to create written output quickly and work independently and in a team environment

DSME Instructor

Position is part-time, lasting from April 1 to June 1, 2016 (dates subject to change) at approximately 27 hours per week. Program curriculum will be provided. There will be flexibility for individual to make slight adjustments based on attending audience and her/his own style of instructing.
Primary Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 3 years or more CDE teaching experience in an accredited DSME/S program
  • Licensed in state of Arkansas or Missouri
  • Excellent communication skills with experience speaking to groups and leading groups through learning exercises
  • Ability to engage and motivate others
  • High level of compassion and the desire to be a partner in patients' diabetes challenges

Marketing Associate

dLife is looking for  an eager and motivated part timer to get exposure in the field of digital healthcare for 35 hours/week.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the development of marketing objectives, strategies and plans
  • Assist with project execution across different media channels, including digital, print, social and broadcast media
  • Brainstorm and assist in the implementation of new campaigns for dLife
  • Assist with PR efforts including writing and proofreading press releases, coordinating interviews with management, PR agencies and the press, and handling awards submissions
  • Conduct research in support of various tasks within the department
  • Create internal and external briefs to assist in the preparation of events
  • Analyze and report on the performance of  various marketing initiatives
  • Assist with database management

Ideal Candidate Experience & Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will be someone who can wear multiple hats and works well in a fast paced environment with great attention to detail
  • Should also have a general interest in business, health or digital media

Graphic Design Intern
dLife is looking for an eager and motivated graphic design intern (student or freelancer) to assist with various marketing projects, both print and web. Specifically, these projects include but are not limited to banner ads (animated & static), web pages, email blasts and printed promotional pieces. Experience with and extensive knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Flash a must. Experience with and knowledge of HTML, CSS and/or DreamWeaver strongly desired.

Ideal Candidate Experience & Qualifications:
  • Experience with and advanced knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign
