DSME Instructor

Then we want YOU to join our new and innovative DSME/S program team helping to educate adults about important healthcare topics and inspiring behavior change.
Position is part-time, lasting from April 1 to June 1, 2016 (dates subject to change) at approximately 27 hours per week. Program curriculum will be provided. There will be flexibility for individual to make slight adjustments based on attending audience and her/his own style of instructing.
Primary Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 3 years or more CDE teaching experience in an accredited DSME/S program
  • Licensed in state of Arkansas or Missouri
  • Excellent communication skills with experience speaking to groups and leading groups through learning exercises
  • Ability to engage and motivate others
  • High level of compassion and the desire to be a partner in patients' diabetes challenges

Marketing Intern

We are looking for someone who wants to get exposure in the field of digital healthcare.

dLife interns gain hands-on experience, responsibility and the opportunity to learn skills that will be applicable to a variety of career choices.

We are within easy commuting to Westport, CT — located across the street from the Saugatuck train station.

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Assisting with the development of marketing objectives, strategies and plans
  • Assisting with project execution across different media channels, including digital, print, social and broadcast media
  • Brainstorming and assisting in the implementation of new campaigns for dLifeTV and
  • Assisting with PR efforts including writing and proofreading press releases, coordinating interviews with management, PR agencies and the press, and handling awards submissions
  • Conducting research in support of various tasks within the department
  • Creating internal and external briefs to assist in the preparation of events
  • Analyzing and reporting on the performance of dLIfeTV and other various company efforts
  • Assisting with database management
  • The ideal candidate will be someone who can wear multiple hats and works well in a fast paced environment with great attention to detail
  • Should also have a general interest in business, health or digital media and will look at this as an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the working world
  • Should be comfortable working with numbers and analytics
  • Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail in both PC and Mac environments

Graphic Design Intern
dLife is looking for an eager and motivated graphic design intern (student or freelancer) to assist with various marketing projects, both print and web. Specifically, these projects include but are not limited to banner ads (animated & static), web pages, email blasts and printed promotional pieces. Experience with and extensive knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Flash a must. Experience with and knowledge of HTML, CSS and/or DreamWeaver strongly desired.
Reports to: Design Director
Ideal Candidate Experience & Qualifications:
  • Experience with and advanced knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign
  • Experience creating web pages and/or emails using HTML & CSS
  • Ability to animate and use basic ActionScripting in Flash
  • Highly creative with excellent attention to detail and follow-up
  • Works well under pressure and thrives in fast-paced environment
  • Online portfolio and/or samples of work must be submitted to be considered for position

Editorial Intern
Yes, you CAN do something with an English or Journalism degree besides teach!

dLife is looking for an eager and motivated intern (student or freelancer) with communication, people, and social media skills to assist with all sorts of projects supporting the effervescent Editorial team. Having a mix of realism and idealism will help. You'll get hands-on experience with researching and creating content (articles, quizzes, slideshows, etc.) and website maintenance across a number of dLife platforms, including and our B-to-B clients. You will assist the Editorial staff with a website maintenance; research and write articles; help dLife members with their various request; and more! Plus, you'll gain knowledge about diabetes and its impact; get exposure to an early stage/start up environment; and interact not only with Editorial professionals, but also with Technology Development and Sales & Marketing.
Ideal Candidate Experience & Qualifications:
  • An understanding of Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or Google+
  • Experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Excellent writing skills. Editing skills are a bonus
  • Highly creative with excellent organization skills, attention to detail and follow-up
  • Works well under pressure, thrives in fast-paced environment, and deadline-driven
  • Self-starter who plays well with others
  • English/Journalism majors preferred; but students in the medical/public health fields with a penchant for research and the ability to relay information in a way that Everyman can understand may also find a place here
  • We are looking for a commitment of 10-15 hours per week, allowing flexibility for school and vacation schedules as needed
