I have been a type 1 Diabetic for 38 years. My insurance no longer covers for the Ultra One Touch test strips. They no longer cover for any One Touch test strips. They are very costly. I like the Ultra One Touch Machine because it is very accurate when I go to the doctor and have my blood drawn I compare my results on my machine with the lab results there is not a big difference . I have used other machines and compare my results to the One Touch and there is a big difference in the results.

I test at least 4 times a day on my One Touch Ultra and sure could use some free strips. Man, these things are expensive. The good part is, it takes just a smidgen of blood - not like some other brands! I have 4 meters so I'm never without one, just in case. I have two Ultra Smarts, one Ultra and 1 Mini! I keep one in my desk, one at home, one in my "spare" purse that goes everywhere I go - and one at my Mom's since I go there so much to help take care of her (she's 89).

I am a juvenile diabetic that would love to win a year's worth of test strips. Although I do check my blood sugar ten times a day, this would help me a great deal in savings. Diabetes is an expensive disease.
I have been a juvenile diabetic for over twenty years, I am not hoping for myself but for the young kids that they find a cure for this disease. It is so sad that children have to live with this. My aunt, my mother had juvenile diabetes also. My aunt died before they had insulin, my mother was born after she died and came down with juvenile diabetes also at the same age my aunt did. I had a two percent chance of getting this disease, and yes I did get juvenile diabetes. The most important thing I want to change is people's mind. They Still Hold it against you for having this disease. How sad.
