We Need Your Vote!
dLife is thrilled to announce that we have been nominated for the “Best Health Website of 2008” People's Voice Webby Award! What's a Webby? Well, they are often referred to as the Oscars of the Internet, so we are honored by the recognition. Unlike the Oscars, however, this award is decided by popular vote from internet users just like you. Now we ask you, the dLife Community, to help us all win. Here's how to cast your vote:
- Visit http://pv.webbyawards.com
- Register to vote (we know it's a pain, but it only takes a minute)
- Once you receive your email registration confirmation, click through on the provided link
- Click on “Website vote now!”
- Go to Living and select Health
- Vote for dLife!
Voting ends April 30, so cast your vote today and ask everyone you know to vote! Thank you for being a part of the dLife Community!

Of course I have voted for Dlife. But you should put the notice somewhere on the top part of the home page so all members will notice it...I didn't find it right away.
Good luck to Dlife...it will be a well deserved honour.

d-Life truly has my vote. I have been treated with Type II diabetes for 9 nine years and I still have periods of denial. d-Life helps me with insight and understanding from others; suggestions for diet and exercise; and much, much more. I am truly appreciative of how d-Life helps me. THANKS d-Life!!

I asked a meter person why we couldn't join the 21st century on the testing equipment. A stick test typically runs at least a dollar. The sticks do not always work. You can get error codes.
The sticks are inconvenient. The sticks are expensive...
What I visualize is a chip. The chip is placed in the blood where the blood circulates. The chip is wifi and you use a PDA to keep track of your blood sugar levels. Say the chip has a 4 gig memory(ideally but it could be even 64k to work). Your PDA communicates bluetooth or wifi with the chip at your choosing. It downloads the record at your choosing and graphs your sugar on the screen. Set the chip to operate every 10 minutes or so. Set the chip to awaken your PDA and tell you if the reading is below or above safe levels.
The meter person said it would not be feasible because they would lose all the revenue from the sticks so they are not interested in a system I have just described. Explains why all the various glucose meters like the watch are not promoted properly.

I myself do not have diabetes, but my son and my daughter-in-law do. This website has taught me many things about diabetes that I didn't know before. The recipes are tremendous and have been a great help in knowing what to cook for them.
I also enjoy the stories from other people who have diabetes and the hints they offer.

I never miss, dLife, I make sure it is scheduled to record every week just in case I'm out and about. My husband who does not have diabetes loves the show too, its helped him understand more about the things I have to do to take care of myself. The show is educational but its really entertaining too.

You have my vote! Its about time that someone who really knows about diabetes designed a website.
Thanks and keep up the GREAT WORKK!
