I have been watching the NEWS for everything about Adult Stem Cells. At Burnham Institute they are testing the fruit fly.
The 28th of February I printed an article about stem cells approaches. "Stem cell approaches are highly promising for diabetes treatment because insulin-producing cells could be placed virtually anywhere in the body, not just in the pancreas, unlike the regeneration of complex organs such as the kidney or eye, restoration of regulated insulin secretion requires providing only one cell type, the beta cell, which will function wherever a blood supply is available.
Burnham faculty members Mark Mercola and Fred Levine are using a large-scale "screening" approach that employs a chemical library, a large number of compounds with varying chemical activities, to locate those that can stimulate stem cells to become beta cells. The first stage of the project will develop automated techniques to test 10,000 drugs. Along with other investigators at Burham, Levine and Mercola are also working to culture new lines of human embryonic stem cells. - At 02:26 PM on Sun, Feb 18, 2007 Esther R. Dyer wrote:
I do not need to read anything said by Nancy Pelosi to know that she is part of the Culture of Death that would destroy the weakest members of the human race, unborn babies, to aquire stems cells for questional scientific advances. It has been shown repeatedly that adult stem cells have been developed into life saving treatments, nothing has been developed for embyronic stem cells. We are no better than Natzi Germanies experiments during World War II if we continue to support and federally fund embyronic stem cell research. Just because we are capable of doing somesthing does not make it right, ethical or moral.

Your video was not visible or audible on my computer. The information that I was able to read about your debate does not state your stand in this matter. However, as a health care professional and a Certified Diabetes Educator I do support Adult stem cell research. This method has been successful and is supported by the president of the US. Embryonic stem cell has been a dismal failure and it is the destruction of a human life. How sad! Which stem cell research are you advocating?

Embryonic stem cell research is a dead end. So far there has been no proof that you get anything from them but cancer tumors in rats. Adult stem cell, cord stem cell, etc. hold out much more hope. There are verifiable results from this research. And you don't have to kill a baby to get them. Pelosi and the rest of her ilk are pandering to desperate people to get votes. It sickens me. All they do is frighten people and then give my tax money out like it was candy to people who just waste it. Why do you think all the big pharmaceutical companies are not big into embryonic stem cell research? Because they know it will never work. All their money is on other types. And they are producing results. Isn't it about time we put this to rest? Tell Pelosi and the Democrats to tell the truth for once in their misbegotten lives and stay out of our lives.

I was very disappointed in your interview. Pelosi is one of the most partisan politians in Washington. The president has never said there could not be stem cell research only that the government would not fund it which is fair since there are so many people on both sides of this issue. Again I am extremly disappointed in your coverage of this issue.

Dear Mr Steinberg,
So what did you really learn from your interview witn Nancy Pelosi? What can the people with diabetes do to make sure that there are enough votes to overide the Presidents Veto when the time comes?

Great feature by dLife! If only the President would listen, but that's expecting too much. GWB is the worst President in history!

so you don't have to kill a baby to get stem cells? Then why are all of these arguments occuring?
