Today's New York Times has a thought-provoking article on the multiple legal and social issues many people with diabetes face in the workplace. Former dLifeTV guests attorney John W. Griffin Jr. and Parade magazine editor Fran Carpentier are both quoted in the story.

My employer already provides for breaks and mealtimes for all his employees. But I've found that I need more time for rest room breaks than employees who don't have diabetes.

I am the only one in my office that has diabetes. I asked our office manager if they could place one of the bio-hazardous sharps containers in the restroom. I was told no that I would have to provide my own container so I did.
