dLife Relief Update
dLife Relief efforts are in full swing, but we still need your help. dLife is working to mobilize the diabetes community to get emergency diabetes care and supplies to victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Thousands of people have already donated their time, money, and services, and we offer our heartfelt thanks. Your generous donations will make a huge difference in many lives.
Here's where we stand:
dLife has coordinated the delivery of several hundred thousand dollars worth of diabetes supply donations from leading diabetes product manufacturers to the hardest hit areas of Louisiana.
In partnership with the Children with Diabetes Foundation, dLife has set up a tax exempt collection to help in the efforts, which so far has collected over $10,000.
In just a few short days, members of the dLife community have sent twenty-seven cases of diabetes supplies to our headquarters in Westport, CT, which were generously shipped out to Louisiana free of charge courtesy of DHL.
dLife co-host Nicole Johnson Baker has personally met with the Governor of Louisiana to strategize on getting supplies to the most needed areas.
dLife has been working closely with Ron Raab and the wonderful network from the Insulin for Life organization to get supplies from around the world.
dLifeTV co-host Mother Love will be appearing on BET’s Telethon next Friday night to inform people of dLife Relief.
dLife is coordinating a medical team that will fly to Louisiana next week to help distribute supplies and set up protocols for the workers who are dealing with those who have diabetes.
