Cosmetic dentistry isn't just the quest for a white smile or straight teeth. Many procedures are imperative for optimal dental health. However, despite the necessity of some of these procedures, people with diabetes must be careful about the work going on inside their mouths.

dLife spoke with Dr. Michael Goldberg, DMD, a dentist and author of What The Tooth Fairy Didn't Tell You, based in New York, and Dr. Ruben Cohen, DDS, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon also based out of New York, to learn more about the various types of cosmetic dental procedures and the potential risks they may have for a person with diabetes.
